Have you ever been to a networking event where someone has fallen asleep, or half the guests leave before dessert? I have (I may or may not have been the one asleep…).
Events with the purpose of networking can sometimes be boring, or seem like every other one you have been to. The venue is a bit dolled up, the food is so-so, and the line for the bar is the most exciting part of the night.
On Tuesday May 17th, the Association of Bridal Consultants Long Beach and South Bay hosted their member meeting at The Ebell of Long Beach with Tres L.A Catering. ABC is a wedding professionals association with the purpose of connecting, networking, and featuring new trends within the wedding and entertainment industry.
Hylah White of Hylah White Special Events designed the beautiful decor for the event. The color scheme inspirations came from “Starry Night” by Vincent Van Gogh, and “Lily Pads” by Claude Monet. Vibrant blues, pastel pinks, and accents of gold brought Ebell of Long Beach to life and created a whimsical atmosphere.
Let’s get down to the real reason we are here…FOOD! Tres L.A Catering whipped up some scrumptious Hors d’oeuvres that deserve some limelight.
One of my favorite hors d’oeuvres is the Chicken Pesto Flatbread. I have had this dish numerous times, and I have never been disappointed. The combination of pesto, tomato and olive oil marries as well as peanut butter and chocolate.
The wild mushroom griddle cake is the perfect “bite” hors d’oeuvre; complete with a sweet pea dollop on top and plate decor to match. When bitten into, the tang of the mushroom is toned down by the sweet pea puree, leaving an explosion of flavor behind.
Speaking of perfect “bites”, Tres L.A has created a truffle that encompasses the flavors of an entire cheese tray (so long, picked over cheese boards!). Aged St. Andre cheese PEARed (pun totally intended) with a port and fig chutney makes this pear truffle seem like it’s time for dessert.
This was by far one of the most entertaining and inspiring networking events I have ever been to. I promise I am not saying that because I work here 🙂 With the whimsical ambiance, and decadent food, the ABC Southbay networking event was absolutely one for the books!
